Today Is A Special Day

Image From:

Yay! Not only is today special because it's Thanksgiving, but it's my boyfriend's birthday too! What do you know? 2 celebrations is one day!

Now, I have to confess something...

We don't eat turkey on Thanksgiving.

We totally go against tradition. If my family and I weren't originally from Mexico, we'd probably join in with the crowd but I don't know, we just simply don't do the turkey thing. Instead this year we're going to eat an authentic Mexican dish - Birria, which is Chicken smothered in this spicy dry sauce, along with Spanish rice and vegetables. Oh, and Ham.  We do the ham. :)

But Thanksgiving isn't about the turkey, or how you decide to celebrate it. It's about being thankful for all the little and big things we have. And not only should we be grateful today, but we should give thanks everyday.  Can you image if we were only blessed one day out of the whole entire year? Same thing, we need to have a little note of gratitude in our hearts each day and not take things for granted.

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving today surrounded by your family and loved ones.

Today is the last day of the "give thanks" link up that I've been participating in. So here goes 5 things that I am grateful for:

I know I already mentioned religion, but I just can't express how thankful I am for our loving Savior who died for our sins.

The little things about life- like trees, butterflies, pretty flowers, white fluffy snow...

Technology.
I don't know what I'd do without my laptop, internet, gps, and iPod.

Clothes and shoes to keep me warm in this freezing weather.

And last but not least,
I'm grateful for all you beautiful followers that take the time to read my blog.
Thank you.

Lovin' Wednesdays and I'm Thankful List

I'm loving...

I totally just came upon this on Weheartit.com and totally love it.
Dresses, jewelry, pumps, lipstick... do i need to say more!?

I love the smell of roses.
Boyfriend needs to gift me more of these. When we first started dating I swear he would give me a bouquet every month but now that we've been dating for years he totally just forgot about my love for these. I probably need to thunk him in the head to help him remember. haha.

I really like this quote.
Because do you know how many times I've been told this? But you know what, it only motivates me to try my hardest and in the end I prove those people wrong.

I kinda have a sweet tooth.

Seriously, I cannot wait for "Eclipse" to come out on DVD.
December 4! The countdown is on!

And that is what I'm hearting this beautiful Wednesday!

Now for this - I'm grateful:
1. That I get tomorrow and Friday off from work. Yippee!
2. For passing the English paper that i had initially failed. Thank goodness our teacher let us do it again. English is seriously my worst subject.
3. Because I have everything that I need. And more.
4. For books. I just love reading.
5. That the supposed blizzard storm in Utah didn't happen as bad as expected. At least, in the area I live in. I hate driving in the snow, especially when it's so hard to see. I'm so glad that nothing major happened.

2 more days 'till Thanksgiving! Woot woot!

Today I'm grateful for:
1. The roof over my head, and because I'm warm and cozy in my home during this cold winter weather.
2. Having food on the table. We've gone through tough times but we've always had food and shelter.
3. My little blue car. It's not my dream car, kinda old, but it has never left me stranded and has taken me back home safely. It's been with me throughout my high school years and now through college.
4. Being able to sleep in yesterday because my class was cancelled. A little extra sleep doesn't hurt anybody.
5. Thanksgiving break! Today is the last day of class and then it's break time! Hip hip hooray!

Be Grateful

Via
Hope you all had a great weekend! It's Thanksgiving week! I'm going to follow along with Kaylee and post 5 things that I am grateful for each day until Thanksgiving day. There are so many things that I take for granted, and I realize that I forget to give thanks to my Heavenly Father for all the things that I have.

If you would like to participate all you have to do  is write a post listing 5 things you're grateful for that day, grab the code that's on Kaylee's blog and paste into your post, and then link up at the bottom of her blog.  With that said, here are the things that I am grateful for:

1. My religion. I don't know where I would be without it today.
2. Family, boyfriend, and friends. They've always been there for me when I've needed them, and I know I can always count on them.
3. Education. This is way important to me. Yes, there are days that I really really hate school, but I'm truly grateful that I have the opportunity of pursuing a career and better myself.
4. My job. I've been working in the same place for about 4 1/2 yrs. and I love it.  The people that I work with are just so amazing and nice.
5. This country. I'm grateful that I was able to become a citizen of the United States this year. I feel really blessed to be living in the US. Coming here was the best thing that could have ever happened me and my family. It has opened so many doors for us.  I don't think that I could have accomplished all the things that I've accomplished anywhere else. Of course, at the same time I'm thankful for the country where I was born and lived for the first 8 years of my life- it's part of who I am. I'll never forget my Mexican roots and culture.

Your turn! :)

P.S. Remember how it was the season finale of my Spanish show version of Dancing With The Stars yesterday? Well, the guy I wanted to win WON! Yippee! He was able to win $50000 for the cause he was dancing for. :)

Sit back and Relax

Sundays are a great day to relax and spend time with the family. And if you're like us, we like to eat eat eat. I swear I gain 5 pounds every Sunday.

Today is the season finale of this Spanish show we like to watch. Mira Quien Baila. English Translation: Look Who Dances. Which it's pretty much the English version of Dancing With The Stars. I love the pretty dresses the girls wear. So flowy and sparkly. Anyway, I hope this guy wins.

They are pretty much the best dancers. He's hott don't you think?

Happy Sunday!

I love Saturdays!

K, I want to know everybody's plans!  I'm not sure what I'm going to do today. I think I might go run a few errands, go to the mall, go watch some movie with the boyfriend, and just relax. Oh, I just remembered, I have this coupon in $10 bucks for Borders that I need to redeem.

So I think I'm going to go and explore the bookstore for an hour or two.
Any good ideas on awesome books out there?
Sorry I already read the Hunger Games Series, which was THE BEST btw.
I heard about some book called
"I am number 4."
Is that any good?

Alrighty, well hope you guys have an awesome weekend!
I'm going to get all prettied up to go out.
Careful and remember who you are!

Oh and I know it's kinda early but I already wrote my letter to Santa.  If you wanna see what's on the letter check out the post.

Laters!
