Interview

Well, im freaking out but here i go. Time for my interview.

on procrastination

today i had to call into work because me being the person that i am procrastinated doing her homework.  i had to write a dumb research proposal persuading my audience that i was ready to start on a 9 paged persuasive research paper, and how i was going to go about it. 

boring!!!! 

and i had to have it done by 5pm.

let me just whine on how much i hate writing.

i hate writing, i hate writing, i hate writing,

writing makes me mad, angry, upset, close to tears.

I HATE WRITING PAPERS!

i'm done.  i just needed to vent.

people usually call into work because they are sick,

(or more like pretending to be sick),

to have a day off and do something fun. 

and what did i do?  i was confined in my room doing homework for hours, when i really could have used that time to go out shopping or something.

oh and i'm still not done. 

now i have to go and peer review 2 research proposals and annotated bibliographies from my other classmates.

i realize this is my own fault. :(

i promise to never procrastinate again.

hmm...

let's see how long that promise lasts.

So for the last two years I've been working my bum off trying to get all my prereqs for Nursing completed.  Finally, having completed them with an acceptable GPA I took the TEAS test about two weeks ago.  And holy smokes! That test was insane! It was so hard, and the worst part is that as soon as you click "done" you get your score right then and there.  Well, I didn't fail, but I didn't get a great score either.  I tried to hold the tears back as much as I could until I could get to the safety of my car.  I have to tell you, I cried, and cried, and cried.  My head hurt, my mascara was all over the place, and the next day my eyes were really puffy and small from all the crying.  I felt like I had no hope.  I didn't even want to try to submit my application because I for sure wasn't going to get an interview (which is the next phase).   Nevertheless, i submitted my application. 

These last two days I have been dreaming that I don't receive an e-mail giving me a place for an interview (receiving an e-mail is good, if you receive a mailed letter it means bad news) And the other dream was that I had received an e-mail but i accidently declined my interview??? It's been horrible. 

Today at about 2 pm, I checked my school e-mail to see if I had received anything. And nada.  Then after work I receive a text from my friend who's also applying to the program saying that she had received an a-mail for the interview.  My heart just sank.  I prayed that there would be an e-mail for me and logged in again.  And guess what!!!!  I have an interview!!!!  It looks like an hour after I had first checked they e-mailed me! I'm so excited!!!  While this doesn't mean that I'm accepted into the program yet,  it is one step closer!

This is the best day ever! :)

It's Hulu's Fault

So last night, guess what I did?  I stayed up watching Bachelor Pad on hulu.com.  Since I'm always busy with work and school, I never really have the time to watch my favorite TV shows when they come on.  Pretty much, HULU is probably the best thing that has happened to me. :)  Or... maybe the worst, because now I stay up a later than I should watching shows online. Ooopsies!

I blame it on hulu for my being sleepy today at work.  'Cause I don't know about you, but 3 hours of sleep doesn't cut it for me.  Anyway!  Who else's is sappy like me and watches Bachelor Pad, The Bachelor/Bachelorrete?  Well, last night I was so dissappointed to see that Tinley didn't win!!! I think Kiptin and Tinley deserved to win the $250,000.  They make an amazing couple, and are one of the nicest people.

After watching the show, I sat there trying to find the song that Wes played for Gia. And oh! He is so sweet! I'm  not much of a country fan, but I love that song and I've just been playing it over and over.  Here, you can listen to it:

Suggestions Needed

Spring semester ended.  Took physiology in the summer.  Summer semester has ended... for me.  Nursing pre-reqs, all done.  Applying for the Nursing program is the next step! Yes, I'm nervous.  And that is my little update ha!

Now I'm trying to enjoy my summer vacation but I am going nuts!!!

I think I may have become a schoolaholic or something, because oddly enough I miss school.  Even after all the hard work and headaches it has given me!

I know. Crazy huh! 

I work full time.  I have seriously read like crazy, have caught up on the bachelorette (my all time favorite show), have rented movies, watched them, and yet...

I still have like the whole afternoon left. 

And this is why I'm back to blogging. 

I don't know how to fill up my time and I'm running out of ideas on what else to read, watch, etc. 

Please if you have any suggestions on what's hot right now tell me!!!!  Comment! 

As for now, my great friend/co-worker is going to let me borrow "Hunger Games". 

Is that good?  I hope so!

What??? Poop! Oh No You Didn't!

 CAUTION: This post may gross some people out.  Read with care and please do not read it while you're eating.

I remember my first day of Microbiology Lab.  We were going over the syllabus and our instructor was discussing all the things that we'd be doing this semester; all the microbes and organisms we'd get to look at under our light microscopes, how we'd get to make yogurt, because as you know yogurt is made of little microorganisms, blah blah blah... 

And then he began to discuss Lab #9  "And you'll also have the opportunity to examine enterobacteria and someone from each group will be bringing a fecal sample..."

"We are going to be doing what!!!!?" I screamed loudly inside my head.  You can imagine the looks of disgust and blank stares everyone had!

-"We will be providing you with a cup that you'll get to take home...." he continued.

 As soon as he said that I immediately exclaimed " I call NOT IT! (kinda like how I used to yell out when I was little and didn't want to be the tagger but the ta-gee) There's no way in this world that I, Grecia, is going to volunteer to bring in MY poop for everyone to look at and examine, all swirled around in a fixed slide..."  C'mon, my poop is my poop and nobody gets to look at it.   And yes, I really did call "Not it" out loud.


-"...and we'll discuss this lab in further detail once the day comes."

Well, that day came and it was today.  First of all, I wasn't the one that brought in the poop. Last week I took charge and appointed someone in the group to bring a "bouncy ball" of their poop.  Second of all, the lab wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.  The poop was diluted a little bit in water so it wasn't this big blob type of thing that we'd have underneath our faces.  It was just brown-yellowish liquid in a tube.  The room was a little stinky when I came in this morning from the previous classes and I started gagging, but I just figured that I would have to hold in my breath or not breathe in as deep as much as possible and everything was OK.  Unfortunately, this lab requires time since we have to incubate the tubes for 24hrs., which means that I have to go back tomorrow and Saturday to open lab to finish the experiments.  So I still have yet to see what poop looks like under the microscope.  Depending on what the person ate, I might see tiny pieces of pizza or corn, who knows.

But before, a quick life update:  I have been super busy with school.  And I have an Anatomy midterm this week.  Wish me luck guys!  Yesterday I got a new car insurance, which is 30 dollars cheaper than the one I had previously.  Makes me excited!  Also, my car has decided that it's going to give me fits.  I just hope that whatever is wrong with it, it won't be so expensive.  The End.
