Good News

Before I left to California I got really good news.  I received a letter that I had been impatiently and anxiously waiting for.  The letter that will change my life and one that means a lot to me and my family.  I will tell you more about it in another post. ;)

And when I came back home to Utah I received more awesome news.  I got my grades for the fall semester and I am super happy to announce that I got all A's this semester! I burst in so much joy and happiness when I read that I had gotten an A- in Chemistry! I thought that I was going to get a C+ or a B but never did I imagine that I would receive an A-!  You can't believe how much I stressed over that class and math too.  Right now there's nothing else that can make me any happier.  The good news that I received this month is the best Christmas present and I couldn't ask for more.

I love life.  I love good news! :)

Back From Cali

So I'm back from my trip to California and I had so much fun!  It's always good to leave your home state for awhile don't you agree? I wish I could have stayed longer but I had to come back to my normal life.

I ate soooo much food in California! I always eat a ton during the holidays.  My boyfriend's family is all Mexican just like me and so we had yummy, delicious, homemade posole, tamales, carnitas, bunuelos, ponche, and all that good stuff.  We partied like there was no tomorrow.  We love dancing.  It's a big part of our culture and so on Christmas Eve, after we had eaten, we danced the night away.  We were having so much fun that we didn't make it to bed until 6:00 o'clock in the morning!  :)

I love my boyfriend's family.  They are super funny!  And I love spending time with them.  The only thing that I didn't like about the trip is that we really didn't go visit any places, which was a little bit of a bummer.  I wish we could have had more time to go play around in Cali but maybe next year there will be time for that.   I still had fun! We might be going back to go to Disneyland and I can't wait.  I've never been to Disneyland so I'm totally excited for that.

I hope you all had a blast Christmas Day!

California Here I Come

I'm all packed and ready to go to California!! Yippeee!  I didn't go to bed last night until like about 1 a.m.  I was too busy wrapping gifts, deciding on what outfits I was going to be taking, and just packing.  And I also didn't want to go to bed until I had finished ironing my blouses and jeans.  Yep, you read that right.  I iron my jeans.  I've heard that many people don't iron jeans and I find that odd.  Hmm... anywho, I'm totally ready and anxious to get on the road! It seems like we won't be leaving until like 1 a.m or 2 a.m though, since we have to wait for my boyfriend's uncle to get off of work.  We kind of have to wait for uncle because him and his wife, Tia Dany, and their kids are coming with usIt snowed today and I really hope that the roads aren't too icy.

Well, I hope you all have a good time with your families.  Have fun!  Remember the true meaning of Christmas.   And have a Merry Merry Christmas!!!!!!

P.S I forgot to tell you some good news...  I got 84.5% on my Chemistry final and that is some awesome news!!! My wish came true! Thank you Santa! My final grade might just be a B- or a B.  Hoooray!

Christmas Is Almost Here

Today I woke up thinking that I was late for school and then I realized that I was done with the semester! Hooray! I am totally enjoying my Christmas Break! I'm super excited for tomorrow because I get to go to California for Christmas! :)  We are going to have sooo much fun!  My boyfriend's family is super fun and they know how to make Christmas super delicious.  So I will probably come back with a few extra pounds in me. LOL.

So this weekend I went shopping for some Christmas gifts.  I was really good this year because I have the habit of shopping for gifts the day before Christmas.  I'm improving.  Since none of my family reads my blog (because I don't think they even know I have a blog),  I think it's safe for me to say what I got them.  I went to Big 5 and got my brothers those 20-in-1 game tables where you can play Foosball, air hockey, and a bunch of other fun games.  I hope they like it!  And for my mom, I really had no clue what to get her so I went the easy way and got her a JCPenney gift card.  I know, not very creative and maybe a liiitle pathetic, but hey she likes to shop there a lot; I figured that she should be able to choose what she wants.  For grandma I got this cute sweater I liked and a dish thing to place yummy cakes (since I broke the one she use to have).  My dad lives in Mexico and so I thought it would be better to just send him money since he happens to be out of work right now.  My boyfriend and I also picked up some nice watches for his grandparents and I can't wait to give it to them.  All I have left to do is wrap presents. :)

I'm all ready for Christmas! How about you?

The Semester is OVER

Whoohooo! I'm super excited and just wanted to share how happy I am that the semester is over!! :)  I was really freaking out about my finals but they weren't that bad.  I won't know what I got on my Chemistry final until they post grades.  But guess what??? I got a 95% on my math final! So I finished off math 1050 with an A-, which I thought was pretty dang awesome! And for Ethics and Values I probably got an A, that class was just too easy.

So in celebration I went to do what i love most.  SHOPPING!

When good things happen, what do you do to celebrate?

Dear Santa Claus

It's that time of the year again! The time when families come closer together.  Sparkling, colorful nights and beautifully decorated homes.  Uplifting Christmas carols playing in cars.  Big smiles on little kids' faces as they make gingerbread houses.  Yep.  It's a sign that the Holidays are here.  Christmas is only 1 week and 4 days away!

For many years I haven't asked for a single thing.  I know; I'm weird.  There's nothing really that my little heart desires because I have everything I need.  I'm very fortunate you see.  I have good health.  I have a roof over my head and food on the table.  I have a job.  I have a great family.  A wonderful boyfriend that takes care and looks out for me.  Friends that make me smile everyday.  What more can I ask for?

Well. This year I actually do have one thing that I would love for Christmas.  And it's a bit on a last notice so I hope that you can help me make my wish come true.  As you know, the school semester is almost over and finals are here.  Tomorrow I have a very important final.  A Chemistry final, and the one that I'm really freaking out on.  I have done my part and studied as much as I possibly could.  Chemistry is a hard subject for me.  And all I want for Christmas is to get a B on the final.  (An A would be even better but that's expecting too much.)  That's all I'm asking for. I don't want a nice car, a mac, or more clothes.  I just want to get a good grade please.  In return, I will try to be a better person this coming year.

Thank you so much Santa

With Love,

Grace

New Moon

You know, I really hate going to theaters that I'm not very familiar with.  I usually go to Cinemark when I go to the movies but being that everything was sold out for New Moon we found tickets at another theater that wasn't as popular.

I wasn't planning to go see New Moon the week it came out.  I wanted to wait 'till the crowd and fans died out a bit before going to watch it myself, but my boyfriend's aunt, which I consider her my aunt as well, called me in reply to a message I had sent.  Since my aunt and I love to go shopping on Saturdays I had texted early to ask if she wanted to go to the Mall with me.  So she calls back:

Tia Dani: "I can't go shopping because we're going to go the movies."

Grace: "Oh... you are going to the movies?" I was starting to feel a little sad because I had been looking forward to hanging out with her.

Tia Dani: "No, WE are going to the movies."

Grace: "Me too?"

Tia Dani: "Yes! we got tickets to the 3 o'clock New Moon showing."  To clarify, that was 3 p.m. not a.m.

Of course got excited because 1. I love to go the movies.  2.  I love hanging out with Tia Dani and her kids.  3.  I really wanted to see New Moon.  So I told her I would go and meet her at the theater after my hair appointment.  After getting my hair trimmed I speeded my way  to the theater because I was already 30 minutes late (thank goodness they were saving my seat).  When I entered the theater, I don't know if it was because I was at an unfamiliar setting but my eyes took forever to adjust to the dark.  For the life of me I could not see squat. zip. nada.

"Tia, I can't see anything..."  I whispered.

Tia Dani tried to guide me by taking my hand but I still stumbled up the stairs to my seat.  And then, she let my hand go. And I was lost...  I still couldn't see...  I didn't know where I was supposed to sit.  So in my struggle to get to my seat (wherever that was) I have no idea but I touched something or someone.  I thought maybe I had grabbed the seat or my aunt's shoulder or one of our other friends.  I squinted trying real hard to get a good look and I saw a gray patch of hair! Oooops! Wrong person!  I accidentally touched an older man's head!  Of course, I apologized as I tried real hard to hold my laughter in.  Finally, after what seemed the longest minutes of my life I was able to get to my seat.  Yeah, please call me graceful.

I really enjoyed New Moon although some of the scenes looked a little fake and the acting was a little rusty in some parts.  Nevertheless, I loved it.  The books will always be better than the movies in my opinion.  For those who haven't read the books, I would advice you read them after you see the movies and not before; you'll enjoy it more that way.
