2010 Recap

In 2010, I...
  • I became a citizen of the United States and words can't even express the amazing experience it was.
  • My boyfriend and I hit our 5 year anniversary of dating. yes.5.years. Where's the ring right?
  • Took summer classes so that I could finish my nursing pre-requisites quicker.
  • Boyfriend and I got a puppy, an American Bulldog who we named Puma.
  • Was introduced to the Hunger Game Series. Seriously, if you haven't read these books you need to.
  • I had my 21st birthday. It wasn't as exciting as when i turned 15 and had my Quinceanera, or when I turned 16 and could drive, but hey it was another year of life that Heavenly Father gave me and I am thankful for each and every day I'm given.
  • Eclipse, the movie, came out and loved it so much.
  • I was accepted into the Nursing Program at my school.
  • I started blogging again and have met so many new people in just the past 2 months. i love you all and treasure your friendship.
  • Got straight A's fall semester.
December
Has been the hardest month because I experienced my first lost.
I lost my best friend to cancer.
I think of her daily and I know she's with me.
I also realized the love that's out there in this blogging community as you guys held my hand through this difficult time. You can't even imagine how much I appreciated your kind and helpful words.
December has also been a good month because well, we had Christmas!
And I also received my first blogger award ever which made me jump with joy.

Good Bye 2010,
Thanks for the memories.
Hello 2011.

I'm so ready for the New Year and am excited to see what's in-store for me!
2011 Bring it on!

An Amazing Award

Today I received my first blog award ever - the Stylish Blogger Award! I'm super dooper happy about this! Thank you for this lovely surprise Aubrie Anne at Who's Your Editor, as well as Elise at Living the Good Life. You pretties are too kind.

There are 4 duties to perform to accept this award:
1.  Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award
2.  Share 7 things about yourself
3.  Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers
4.  Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award

1. I've never drank alcohol, or smoked.
2. I sometimes sing in the shower.
3. I smile and laugh too much. Some of my friends tell me I have an eternal smile.
4. Hopefully by 2012 I'll graduate as a Registered Nurse. I'm thinking that I'm going to go for my BS in Nursing after that.
5. I eat too much candy. Every time I go to the store getting a sucker, chocolate, or any little piece of candy is a must.
6. I spend too much money on clothes.
7. One of my biggest fears is failing in life. I'm scared that I won't become the person I want to be. And of not achieving the goals I've set for myself.

I'm passing this award onto:

it's that time of the month and i HATE it.....

with a cup of hot chamomile herbal tea
hugging my teddy bear
and hoping these go away SOON.

Do you guys have any suggestions on how to get rid of these suckahs fast?

Holly Jolly Christmas

Can you imagine if this had happened when you were out eating at the mall?

What a great way to invite the Christmas spirit.
it gives me the chills...

I hope you all have a Merry Merry Christmas!
And remember the true meaning of tonight, and tomorrow.
The fancy dinner you have really does not matter,
or what you'll wear tonight,
it doesn't even matter that you may only get 1 gift.
What's important is the time that we share with our families,
giving, loving, laughing
and
enjoying the little simple things we have.
And if  you're religious, today is the time to remember our Savior's birth and all that he has done for us.

Have a joyous time!
Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas!

Smile & Laugh

Did you remember to smile today?

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.
-- e.e. cummings

I don't think there is ever a day when you don't see me crack a smile. You can even ask my friends. They'll tell you. Smiling is great for the soul. There's something about it that radiates positiveness. And when I'm not having the best day, or I'm mad I've noticed that a smile from someone makes it all better. Didn't you know, that laughter is the best medicine?

Fives

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I finally got all of my Christmas shopping done. Phew! The stores are seriously packed! It's insane. But anyway the lovely Tamera tagged me, and well I just had to do this! :)

My Five Current Loves: not necessarily in this order.

#1. Naps.

#2. Love me some Cheesecake!
My mouth is watering right now...

#3. My Christmas vacation.
Not necessarily going anywhere but
No work for 10 days.
No school till January.
Just relaxing, and spending time with family.
What more can I ask for?

#4. Scarves. So warm, so cozy.
I have this one.

#5. Chapstick.
My lips' best friend.

5 Q?'s
1. Favorite Make-Up Brand?
I love Mary Kay's colors.
But I love Clinique's foundation.

2. Favorite Clothing Brand?
Don't have one.
But I have 2 favorite stores where I get almost all my clothes from:
Boheme Boutique - They have the cutest jeans, but a little pricey.
Papaya -  They are very cheap and have so much cute styles to choose from.

3. Your indispensable make up product?
My foundation.
To cover up those pimples I get and my dark eye circles from staying up late doing homework.

4. What country would you like to visit and why?
France.
I've always wanted to see La Tour Eiffel and the Opera House.
I also took French for 5 yrs back when I was in Jr High, and High school, and I finally want to put the language to use.

5. What is the last concert you've been to?
You're never going to believe this - I've NEVER been to a concert.

Now, I'm not specifically going to tag anyone because i know many of you don't like to do these games or have already done this before but whoever wants to do this, go right ahead. Let me know if you do so I can stop by and take a look. :)

Thanks Tamera! I love to do these. It was fun!

Meatyloaf Timmy

Sometimes when I get bored at work I IM my friend, and we have funny, random conversations. Like take this one for example - where we start chatting about Tim McGraw and end up with Beefcake...

(4:38 PM) Grecia: hey is tim mcgraw an actor as well?
(4:38 PM) Aubrey: yea but only recently
(4:39 PM) Grecia: REALLY!
(4:40 PM) Grecia: holy macaroni. he looks better with the cowboy hat on.
(4:41 PM) Aubrey: i don't like him without his hat!
(4:42 PM) Grecia: yeah he's got weird hair and he just doesn't look as melting without it. oh. in case you didn't know he's my husband too. but only when he wears his hat.
(4:43 PM) Aubrey: hahaha well fine, you have him and i get RYAN REYNOLDS!
(4:43 PM) Grecia: oh no i call dibs on him too!
(4:44 PM) Aubrey: nope i called first dibs
(4:44 PM) Aubrey: and you're getting 2 (well, 1 1/2) hot guys
(4:44 PM) Aubrey: gerard and timmy
(4:45 PM) Grecia: timmy? aubrey really... timmy?
(4:45 PM) Aubrey: oh yes, timmy.
(4:45 PM) Aubrey: it's what i call him when i make him dinner.
(4:45 PM) Aubrey: i'm sure Faith calls him Timmy
(4:46 PM) Grecia: oh boy.
(4:46 PM) Grecia: timmy doesn't go well with that hunk of a man.
(4:46 PM) Aubrey: hunk!? hahahah
(4:46 PM) Aubrey: that's a funny word
(4:46 PM) Grecia: stop making me laugh out loud!
(4:47 PM) Grecia: Yes. he's a HUNK.
(4:48 PM) Grecia: from wikipedia: Hunk- A slang term for a sexually appealing man, a person who is sexually attractive or a well-muscled, sexualized man, as in beefcake.
(4:50 PM) Grecia: BEEFCAKE. hehehehe.
(4:52 PM) Aubrey: BEEFCAKE!?
(4:52 PM) Aubrey: Beefcake.
(4:52 PM) Aubrey: For real.
(4:52 PM) Aubrey: that sounds like a bad cake.
(4:52 PM) Aubrey: like, a meatloaf.
(4:52 PM) Grecia: that's what it says....
(4:52 PM) Aubrey: MEATYLOAF TIMMY
(4:52 PM) Grecia: Oh this is just too funny!
(4:53 PM) Grecia: um... can i post this conversation in my blog under funny things? hahahaha
(4:54 PM) Aubrey: Oh go for it, I want to remember this day for all time and eternity.
(4:54 PM) Aubrey: Mrs. Beefcake

So if you have a recipe or have made beefcake before, please do tell me so. I'm interested.

She got her wings

In her last week I spent as much time as I could with my friend. I had time to tell her all she meant to me, and how much I loved her. It's hard losing someone so close to you. I miss her so much already. A person couldn't have asked for a better friend. She was always there for me. Always giving me advice and cheering me on throughout school. She gave me strength when I felt weak. Believed in me when I lacked confidence. She was always so happy, positive, full of energy...

Yesterday, I lost a friend. But at the same time, I gained another angel who'll be watching over me. I will always love you Karen, and never forget you.

This song is for you.

when i think back on these times
and the dreams we left behind
i'll be glad because i was blessed to get to have you in my life
when i look back on these days
i'll look and see your face
you were right there for me

in my dreams i'll always see you soar
above the sky
in my heart
there always be a place
for you for all my life
i'll keep a part of you with me
and everywhere i am there you'll be
and everywhere i am there you'll be

well you showed me how it feels
to feel the sky within my reach
and i always will remember all the strength you gave to me
your love made me make it through
oh i owe so much to you
you were right there for me

in my dreams i'll always see you soar
above the sky
in my heart
there always be a place
for you for all my life
i'll keep a part of you with me
and everywhere i am there you'll be

because i always saw in you my light, my strength
and i want to thank you now for all the ways
you were right there for me
you were right there for me
for always

in my dreams i'll always see you soar
above the sky
in my heart
there always be a place
for you for all my life
i'll keep a part of you with me
and everywhere i am there you'll be
and everywhere i am there you'll be
there you'll be

Please.

My heart is aching
For I'm losing a great friend.
I've never lost somebody close to me,
I don't even know how to cope.

I try not to think about it.
Memories plague me.
I thought she was getting better
But I was wrong.

She looks so fragile
like a delicate vase.
I feel so useless
I wish I could do something to take the pain away.
If only her pain was my pain.

Mixed emotions.
Anger.
Sadness.
Confusion.
Why is life so unfair,
I don't even understand.

It's only a matter of time I hear.
I feel devastated.

Pet Peeves

Want to know what my biggest pet peeve is...

Seeing people walking with their shoe laces untied.

Oh and also, boyfriends that leave the toilet seat up.
Please don't ever try searching for an image with the keyword "toilet".
You might encounter some inappropriate things.
Just. Saying.

Your turn. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Get 2 Know Me

I noticed that people have been doing a "30 day blog challenge". I don't know if it was only something for the month of November? But since I came back to the blogging world a little ways into the month I didn't get a chance to participate. So now I'm going to do it through the month of December. Yay me! I think it's a great way to get to know me more. However, I won't be posting about it here, I'll be posting it on my other blog. Yep, I run 2 blogs. I'm like addicted to blogging. I've already posted my 1st thing out of the 30 day challenge. If you want to see a picture of me and read about how my day was click here. And feel free to comment on my horrible quality pic or how bad I stink at air hockey. :)

OH MY GOSH

How many of you are familiar with The Pioneer Woman?? If you aren't, you MUST get to know her.  She's like the most awesomest lady ever. I about died when I found out today that her book based on her love story with Marlboro Man (her husband) comes out in February!!! I mean she has the 40 chapter story online but seriously girls, there's nothing better than a  tangible book. With a pretty cover. And the smell of fresh new book pages.  Yes. I'm a book page sniffer. And I'm a sucker for romantic stories. There's absolutely no doubt about it, this is going on my Christmas Wishlist. :)

I Did It Again

I came upon this quote at Kylee's blog and loved it because it speaks truth.  I procrastinated (really? people still do that, ha!) working on my English paper over the Thanksgiving break and that's why I'm still awake now. I kept saying "oh I'll just do it tomorrow", kept putting it off, and "later" never got around. And now I'm suffering the consequences - staying up late working on homework, instead of dreaming about my prince charming. Putting off homework is such a simple and not so drastic example, but there are so many other things in life that we might be putting off that may have greater consequences than just a loss of a couple hours of sleep. Like Kaylee said, "we need to live in the now" not the later... something I really need to work on.

Thank goodness it was only a second draft and not the final paper. I'm not completely doomed. I'm going to get some sleep now, even though i'm not exactly done, but C'mon it's English. I'm such a great student right? ;)

What's one thing you've been putting off lately?

All Shopped Out

*Please bare with me, I'm currently trying to make my blog all Christmasy. So it may look one way at one point and then different the next minute. :)

Yes, I'm all shopped out. I'll do a show and tell post later.

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us I can't wait for this:

Isn't it pretty? When I get married and have my own home, I'm going to make sure that my house has a fireplace.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get ready 'cause boyfriend is picking me up in 20 minutes. I think we're going to do dinner and a movie tonight. :)

What are your plans this fine and dandy Saturday?

Show N Tell: Boyfriend's Bday Present

Hope ya'll had a fabulous Thanksgiving! My Thanksgiving was delicious!
I think I'm still full.

Anyway, you know how I told you that it was my boyfriend's birthday yesterday?
Wanna see what I gave him...

Image From
When we went to the mall a couple of weeks ago, he mentioned how much he really liked this jacket and said how he was going to buy it later on.
But I beat him to it!

Image From
He had kind of hinted that he wanted a new watch.

Image From
This movie came out on DVD just in time for his birthday.
When it first came out in theaters we went and saw it twice,
and now we've seen it twice at his place as well.
I think this just might be his new favorite movie.
Probably because it's action packed!

He really loved his present.
Mission accomplished. :)

Today Is A Special Day

Image From:

Yay! Not only is today special because it's Thanksgiving, but it's my boyfriend's birthday too! What do you know? 2 celebrations is one day!

Now, I have to confess something...

We don't eat turkey on Thanksgiving.

We totally go against tradition. If my family and I weren't originally from Mexico, we'd probably join in with the crowd but I don't know, we just simply don't do the turkey thing. Instead this year we're going to eat an authentic Mexican dish - Birria, which is Chicken smothered in this spicy dry sauce, along with Spanish rice and vegetables. Oh, and Ham.  We do the ham. :)

But Thanksgiving isn't about the turkey, or how you decide to celebrate it. It's about being thankful for all the little and big things we have. And not only should we be grateful today, but we should give thanks everyday.  Can you image if we were only blessed one day out of the whole entire year? Same thing, we need to have a little note of gratitude in our hearts each day and not take things for granted.

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving today surrounded by your family and loved ones.

Today is the last day of the "give thanks" link up that I've been participating in. So here goes 5 things that I am grateful for:

I know I already mentioned religion, but I just can't express how thankful I am for our loving Savior who died for our sins.

The little things about life- like trees, butterflies, pretty flowers, white fluffy snow...

Technology.
I don't know what I'd do without my laptop, internet, gps, and iPod.

Clothes and shoes to keep me warm in this freezing weather.

And last but not least,
I'm grateful for all you beautiful followers that take the time to read my blog.
Thank you.
